The Death of Yolo

I hear the Savior say”Thy strength indeed is small Child of weakness, watch and pray

Find in me thine all in all” Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe Sin had left a crimson stain

He washed it white as snow And when before the throne I stand in Him complete

Jesus died my soul to save My lips shall still repeat Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe

Sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow”

I love this song! It is something we need every day as a reminder that our debt has been paid! Jesus took the ultimate pain so that we may be saved through Him. What an awesome sacrifice He made for us that we may have a chance at eternity with Him. Jesus was mocked, spit upon, beaten and humiliated for you, YES YOU! EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU, HE DID IT ALL FOR YOU! HOW AMAZING IS IT? lets take a look at John 3:16, we all know this verse “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.” Let that sink in and really understand what God did for all of us. Imagine for a second that you gave your child, your own flesh and blood as a sacrifice so that others may live. It holds such a powerful message. God loved us SO MUCH that in order to save the world He sacrificed His only so that we may live in eternity with our Lord and Savior!!!!! I don’t know about you but that speaks volume! JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED FOR YOU!!!!!!

Lets look at the definition of crucifixion: An extremely difficult, painful trial; torturous suffering. a method of putting to death by nailing or binding to a cross, normally by the hands and feet. OUCH! seriously, Jesus took Nails in each one of His hands and through the tops on His feet. They also put on Him a crown of thorns which would cause His Head to bleed. Who do you know that would go through all of that just for you? My guess is no one!

In Matthew 27 after they nailed Jesus to the cross they stood the cross upright and atop the cross was a sign that read “King of the Jews” as Jesus hung there people continued to mock Him and laughed at him while spitting on His face saying “If you are the Son of God save yourself King of the Jews, come down from the cross. They didn’t believe He was who He said he was. As He hung there they begin to rip the garments from His body. Now in the sixth hour there was darkness that surrounded the land until the ninth hour and it was in the ninth hour that Jesus cried out ““Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” and gave up His spirit. immediately the curtain in the Holy temple was torn in two front top to bottom. Now this was no ordinary curtain, this was a very thick and very heavy curtain. and after that they buried Him in a tomb and rolled a huge stone in front of the opening to the cave.

All the soldiers and centurions were probably laughing and throwing a party know that they just crucified Jesus and thought he was gone. Oh but little did they know that on the third day after His death Jesus rose from the Grave, He conquered death and has risen! JESUS CHRIST HAS RISEN!!!! You see Jesus went through death so that through His resurrection we can be saved! I’m here to tell you that MY GOD’S NOT DEAD, HE’S SURELY ALIVE!!!!! LET US REJOICE THAT OUR GOD IS ALIVE!!!! HOLY HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY! Happy Easter everyone and God bless!

Living, He loved me, Dying He saved me, Buried He carried my sins far away, Rising He justified freely forever, One day He’s coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day – Casting Crowns: Glorious Day

Jesus has overcome And the grave is overwhelmed The victory is won He is risen from the dead – Chris Tomlin: I will Rise

What comes to mind when you think of the term Radical Faith? anyone? Well lets look at these two words separately and understand what they mean. First is the word radical, the meaning of this word is simply; to become extreme, a change from somethings origin. Next is the word faith, which means, confident belief in the truth or belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. So the word radical is to want something more, to change from the status quo in a sense. to become more than what something is. So when we talk about Radical Faith, it means to desire to become more faithful than what we once were, to believe more intensely in things unseen or that cannot be explained.  The Bible defines faith as, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (KJV) Hebrews 11:1

In the book or Hebrews, chapter 11 we are given several examples of radical faith. You see there is a difference in having faith and having radical faith. A lot of people have faith in things, faith that our car will get us to and from work, our home will provide shelter, these are things we have faith in on a daily basis but to have radical faith means to be strong in your belief. You see many people say they have faith, but do they really? many people believe that God will supply and that God is here for us, but do they actually believe it? You see, we all have faith in things we can see and can comprehend but what about the things we cannot see. Take Moses for example, When God told him that He was going to part the Red Sea, in his devotion to God and his radical belief that the Waters would part, Moses saw Gods strength. (Exodus 14:21 ESV) You see, thats the kind of faith I believe God wants us to have, when is the last time you walked up to a river and had enough faith that God would separate it for you? I know I certainly haven’t. I believe God is calling us to have faith to move mountains, faith to conquer things that defy the law of physics. That is Radical Faith!

Lets look at Joshua for a moment, in the Bible, God told Joshua that he would hand over the Amorites to him in battle, and Joshua having radical faith said to the Sun to stand still and it did! He had faith, radical faith, that God could do just that.

At that time Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel “Sun, stand still at Gideon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.(Joshua 10:12&13 ESV)

I believe it is time we start having Radical Faith that with God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! I will be the first to say I have a long way to go when it comes to having Radical Faith for God to do the impossible, to do things that are humanly hard to comprehend. You See God is the same yesterday, today and forever! I think its about time we realize that Radical Faith is not just a term but its a way of life. Be Blessed

Start believing God to do the impossible. Start believing and asking God for things that naturally doesn’t make any sense. Believe God for 100 PERCENT COMPLETE HEALING AND WHOLENESS, believe God for checks in the mail, believe God for promotions on the job, believe God for $0 balances with creditors, believe God to slice bills in half, BELIEVE GOD FOR THINGS THAT’S CRAZY AND IMPOSSIBLE IN THE NATURAL REALM. If God can separate a body of water, If God can turn water into wine, If God can say, “Let there be light” and there was light…how much more are you (being his child) able to ask God for these things and He does it.

Debt Free and Alive in Christ is a powerful statement in itself. You see when we come to know Christ everything that was before that is merely a moment in time that is now behind us. We should learn to leave our wicked past and focus on what God has before us. I believe sometimes we as Christians forget what it means to become a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV) It means we must get back to the foundation, the core, to the blank canvas. Think about it this way, when you take an old car and decide to repaint it and make in new again first you must sand the entire car to remove the old clear coat, remove the blemishes, imperfections and get the body back into its origin shape. (this is an example of removing our Sins, our unclean spirits, our flaws) once that is done the car can be primed and begin the repainting process. Once completed, the car will have a nice new shine, bright colors and will sparkle in the light. We are like old cars, God takes us and molds us and shapes us back to an original shape then paints us new, creates a new shine in us so that we may be in the light and shine like the stars.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.  For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,  and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.  Colossians 2:6-14

You see, everything we did before Christ has been wiped clean, Jesus paid our debt, transformed us into new creatures. He took us and shined us like that new paint job. We are new creations in Christ our Lord. OUR SINS HAVE BEEN NAILED TO THE CROSS! We must now guard ourselves so that we can remain in Him who cleaned us and shined our spirits. To do this we must dwell in Him. We must be steadfast in His word so that no man can deceive us with worldly views and ungodly doctrine. We must be like a newly painted car, protecting the shine (new creation), wax the clear coat (reading scripture). Would you take a freshly painted car and drive it through a desert full of sand and rocks? (some of you reading may say YEAH! lol but bare with me) Most of us would say NO WAY! We must treat our selves like a new paint job. we must take care of ourselves by getting to know Christ more, following our owners manuals (The Bible) devoting ourselves to becoming a new creation in Him. You see God wants us to remain new creations in Him. Yes, we may have a hiccup along the way but, the important thing is to remember that OUR DEBT has been PAID! Now it is up to us to maintain that by dying to ourselves daily and asking God to forgive us for making mistakes. None of us our perfect, even as Christians we will still make mistakes. we will slip up, get off track but through Grace we are able to become new again through Jesus Christ. it should be our Goal to be shameless, spotless creations in Christ, but although we have been forgiven and asked God into our hearts, we are still human, that is why it is so so important to walk in the Spirit of the Lord and not in the Flesh. I urge all of you as Christ followers to read The Word daily, worship the Lord with all your heart and remain steadfast in prayer. As the old saying goes, ” You are what you eat!” If we do these things then everything else will fall into place if we are truly trying to live for Him. God’s Word is food for our souls, it is the true SOUL FOOD! Be Blessed and remember, I’m not perfect, I’m a Pharisee in Recovery

God is > Our Stress

Posted: April 5, 2014 in Uncategorized

Can I be real for a moment? I want to be open and honest with myself and with anyone who may read this. Today my flesh got the best of me. It was an extremely busy day at work and things just kept piling up and caused me to get a little too stressed out. I finally got out of work almost two hours late and when I got home I happened to spill a drink and it was the breaking point of my flesh and I just let it all out! I screamed, I cussed, I got extremely angry, I was in a pharisee moment. After it was all said and done my beautiful wife just said, ” Its ok babe, I probably didn’t need to drink the diet coke anyway, I probably should be drinking water.” Instantly my attitude changed. I was ashamed of my reaction. I overreacted to something so trivial and stupid really. I allowed my flesh to take my joy. I asked God to forgive me for cussing and becoming angry over something so little. You see, we all stumble, we all make mistakes (This is not an excuse to continue to do the same things) we crack under the pressure of work and annoyances we deal with during the day. Where I failed, was after work  instead of taking a deep breath and asking God to calm my nerves, I bottled it up until the next little, trivial, unimportant thing went wrong.

Even in our weakest moments when we feel drained, tired, angry we must stop and realize that God is right there when we need Him. In times of stress, He is our relief, in times of sorrow, He is our comforter, in times of weakness, He is our strength. When we have trouble we should turn and run into his arms. For those of you with children, or if you’re like me, think back to the time when you were a little kid, you would run and play, climb trees, build forts, ride your big wheel down a really big hill. When something went wrong, you fell down, scraped your knees what did you do? You ran as fast as you could to your mom or dad for comfort in their arms. We should be the same way with God, He is our Father, the healer of our wounds. So next time when stress, anger or simply when life happens, always remember, God is our refuge! He will hold us in His arms! (Psalms 46.1 ; Psalms 91 ESV) BE BLESSED and remember I’m just a #Phariseeinrecovery

Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalms 91:14-16

“It is in our imagination, the maternity ward of our dreams, that we will fight some of life ‘s grandest battles. If the enemy can win there he can keep us from ever attempting anything epic for God, thus reducing us to mere survivalist creatures, shrinking our journey here on earth to nothing more than coping mechanisms and weathering techniques. And while we all need to grow in the area of coping skills, life was meant to be more than just coping, or merely getting by” – Jimmie Larche : 13-ft Coffins: Because Giants were meant to be Slain

Think about that quote for a moment, let it sink in and try to really understand what is being said here. You see the enemy will attack the very foundation of where ministry is birthed, creativity grows, the very foundation where God speaks to us, not only in our heart but first our minds. Think about stuff we have physically around us, computers, cellphones, cars, houses, artificial light. All these things were once an imagination, a vision, a design. What do you think would have happened if someone didn’t have a vision to create these things and then act upon them, Where would we be? what if the great inventors just sat there and did nothing with those ideas? You see its the same with us as christians. We have visions, dreams, creative minds, and imagination.

Take for instance the incandescent light bulb, it was first an idea, then became a vision, then was created. In 1802, Humphry Davy had what was then the most powerful electrical battery in the world at the Royal Institution of Great Britain. In that year, he created the first incandescent light by passing the current through a thin strip of platinum, chosen because the metal had an extremely high melting point. It was not bright enough nor did it last long enough to be practical, but it was the precedent behind the efforts of scores of experimenters over the next 75 years. What if Humphry never acted upon is idea, his vision? it took 75 more years of study and development to achieve a greater design. So had he ignored his idea, put it on the back burner, it might have pushed back the first incandescent light 75 more years. Edison may not have had all the previous data to be able to master the original plan to create a light bulb that would burn 1500 hrs at the time.

We see  many examples of this in the Bible, God giving people visions. I don’t have enough time to cover them all so I am going to touch on a couple. Joseph is one of the most famous dreamers, and one of the most famous dream-interpreters, in the Bible. In Genesis 37, Joseph had his first dream, that he would rule over his brothers and then had a second dream that the Sun, Moon and the stars bowed to him. You see God didn’t speak directly to Joseph, but rather through dreams. God gave Joseph a vision of what was to come. if Joseph had given up on God’s answers to dreams during that time, he wouldn’t have interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams, and he wouldn’t have been given the authority to rule that finally caused the fulfillment of his own dreams! It was by being obedient in the face of crushed hopes that God was able to allow Joseph’s greatest dreams to come true. In the same way, often it is only when we keep on in faith, persevering without evidence, that God can finally cause miracles in our lives as well.

Lets look at Ananias for a moment, in Acts 9, God appeared to him in a vision telling him“11 Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, 12  and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.” (ESV) had Ananias not listened God Saul might have not regained his vision, he wouldn’t have went into Jerusalem and preached the gospel. Now of course Saul would have eventually regained his sight because if Ananias ignored the vision, God would have sent someone else But God used him to fulfill his plan for Saul.

Today a lot of Christ followers don’t feel like God speaks to them, as if they never hear from God, but I believe that He uses our dreams and our visions to help us become who we are meant to be in Him, It is up to us to respond, to put forth an effort. If we ignore the dreams and visions God gives to us, He will use someone else to show His Glory. Just as God uses dreams and visions to call us to something greater than ourselves, the enemy uses them to destroy us, to hender us from becoming what God has called us to be. In John 4 God tells us to test the spirits to see if they are from God, before we react to them. We must guard our hearts but most importantly we must guard our minds. You see not every Idea, dream, vision is from God, so we must be steadfast in our relationship with Him to determine which ones are of God and which ones are schemes set to destroy our purpose in Christ. Hold on to your dreams, pray and seek God to show you the way. Let Him be your guide so that you can step into you divine appointment with Destiny. Don’t let the enemy still your dreams, grab it and run with it! Be Blessed #phariseeinrecovery

Do Not Judge

Posted: April 2, 2014 in Uncategorized

“Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.” – Romans 2:1 ESV. WOW, that goes deep. You see none of us are perfect, we have all sinned! I myself am guilty of judging others of things I have done myself. Who am I to Judge? Ask yourself that next time you start to judge someone else, you see, God did say he will judge all people, he never said he needed your help!! I believe that is part of the issue with why people look at Christians the way they do, we are so quick to judge and condemn others, that’s not our place, we are to “Love you neighbor as yourself” Mark 12:31 ESV. No where does it say love your neighbor while casting judgment. We get too caught up in the wrath of God that we as Christians fail to show the Love of Christ. Maybe, just maybe if we started to see the whole picture then people would want to come to know Christ. You see first and for most, We are called to love God and Love People, it’s that simple, we try to make this harder than what it truly is, I think it’s about time we start extending Grace instead of Judgement. Just a thought, I’m not perfect, I’m just a recovering Pharisee! Be Blessed#lentchallenge #loveGodlovepeople #phariseeinrecovery
